ONE TIME CLASS INFO + GUIDELINES

Thank you for joining us for a one-time class!

To help keep our studio organized and welcoming, please take a moment to review the information below. As a shared space, we ask that all guests follow these guidelines so everyone can have a great experience.

Please see the FAQs below for one-time students. If you’re interested in enrolling in a full course, additional course FAQs are also provided below.

  • All one-time classes include clay, tools, firing fees, and your choice of glaze. Aprons are provided to help protect your clothing. Please wear comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes.

  • Please allow 4–5 weeks for all work to be fired.

Ceramics is a fragile medium, and to prevent cracking or damage, all pieces must dry slowly before firing. If clay is placed in the kiln while still wet, it can crack or even explode.

To avoid this, we carefully slow-dry all work and include an 8-hour preheat cycle to ensure all moisture has been removed before firing.

  • Studio members receive discount codes and updates via their monthly invoice email. These codes can be applied to one-time classes, but not courses, as courses involve more materials and instructor time.

  • For one-time classes, students must be at least 12 years old and accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Our multi-week courses are designed for adults (18+). Students ages 16–17 may be considered with prior approval.

For younger participants, we recommend booking a private group session or enrolling in one of our seasonal camp classes. All youth classes are taught by instructors certified under LAUSD guidelines.

    • Cancellations made within 3 days of the class date receive a 50% refund.
    • Cancellations made at least 5 days prior to the class start date are eligible for a full refund.
    • Cancellations made less than 3 days of the class start date are non-refundable.

This policy accounts for preparation time, material costs, instructor scheduling, and limited class space. Thank you for your understanding.

COURSES INFO + GUIDELINES

Hello, and thank you for your interest in taking a course!

To maintain a welcoming, safe, and productive environment, we ask all students to follow the guidelines below regarding pickup dates, timelines, studio rules, and consideration for others in the space.

This studio is a safe space for all. Racism, harassment, or discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated among staff or students. All participants are expected to treat one another with respect and to complete their work on time to support overall studio coordination.

SPRING 2026 – LAST PICK-UP DATE:
Sunday, June 14th at 5:00 PM

  • All courses include studio practice hours, kiln firings, and access to our tools and glazes. Clay is not included but can be purchased on-site.

We carry 21 different clay bodies, each with its own characteristics. For example, porcelain is more expensive than red clay, and different clays can produce unique effects when paired with glazes during firing.

  • Course students are granted 24-hour access to the studio for course-related work. Use of the studio for personal projects is limited to full-time members.

  • In the event of an emergency, one make-up session per course may be permitted, provided it is completed within the same month and is subject to availability. All make-up sessions must be discussed and arranged in advance with the instructor or studio staff.

Missing the first class is generally manageable; however, mid-session classes are the most critical, as they cover essential material and require instructor guidance.

  • Once your course is finished, your work may require additional time to dry and be fired.

Please use the link below to schedule a pickup time:

If you still need to glaze your piece, please use the same link to schedule a return visit and notify your instructor via email.

As a small team, scheduled appointments help us track your work and assist you more efficiently.

Please see below for more information on pickup deadlines. Work not collected by the final pickup date will be discarded.

  • All students have 60 days from their last class date to pick up their work. Unfortunately, due to limited space, any artwork not collected within this time will be discarded.

  • Please label your tools and clay with your name or store them on your assigned shelf to help prevent lost or misplaced items. The studio is not responsible for missing items.

  • All students are granted one additional week after the final day of class to complete any finishing touches, including glazing, carving, and sculpting. Please ensure all course pieces are completed within this timeframe, as it helps maintain an efficient studio workflow.

After this period, continued access to the studio requires the purchase of a day pass.

  • To help us track your work and ensure it’s fired on time, please fill out a yellow firing slip to notify our lab technician when your piece is ready. These slips are available in the studio.

Please also remember to sign the bottom of all your work, as many pieces may look similar. This helps staff identify and track them.

    • Cancellations made within 3 days of the start date will receive a 50% refund.
    • Cancellations made at least 5 days prior to the class start date are eligible for a full refund.
    • Cancellations made less than 3 days of the class start date are non-refundable.

This policy is in place to account for preparation time, material costs, instructor scheduling, and limited class space. Thank you for your understanding.
